Studio Calico is celebrating Father's Day all week with some help from a few of the Studio Calico Dads. Be sure to follow Studio Calico on Facebook and Twitter to hear from more of the SC Dads with their thoughts on Project Life.
I don't know about your husbands, but mine has been amazing in remembering to save ticket stubs and other ephemera, take photos when I'm not around and has just been, in general, better about grabbing the camera himself to capture a moment since I started doing Project Life. Tom LOVES Project Life. He loves looking at the albums and knows how important it is to us to document all these little memories. Here's what Tom has to say about the project....
Project Life has proven to be a valuable way to preserve many memories of our lives. It was even more apparent, how important it was, when Kelly was on bed rest while pregnant with Sawyer. It allowed and reminded me to be engaged in capturing images while we were making memories. It also kept Kelly connected since all my pictures were sent to her for use in the albulm. She could enjoy those memories as well even though she couldn't participate at the time.
There are very few accounts of my childhood in photo albums when I visit my mom and dads house. I sometimes think about how fun it would be for my boys to see pictures of their dad playing baseball, bike racing, playing basketball, etc. Although I had a great childhood, most of the memories weren't caught on film. Consequently, I have to be reminded about some of the memories. Something as simple as a movie ticket stub can be a reminder of a good time had. This past weekend, I took Jackson to see the new Man of Steel Superman movie (this year's big summer blockbuster). As I put the ticket stubs in my pocket (knowing that Kelly would want them for this week's spread), I thought about how neat it would be to look back on other big blockbuster movie ticket stubs from my parent's younger days...Jaws, Star Wars, etc. For these reasons, I'm a huge supporter and active participant in the project. The boys and I love going through our PL albums and I know we will for years to come.
P.S. It's 1/2 way through the year and if you're anything like me, you're in need of a serious restock on Project Life supplies....there are lots of page protectors and albums still in stock at Studio Calico! Stock up now while you can!

I just started doing PL this year and I like that you can get as creative as you want or not. There are so many PL choices out now ... and it is so much fun to pick and choose what to use in your album.

My favorite thing since starting Project Life is that it makes me be intentional with my photos and the memories/moments that I am choosing to capture and record. I appreciate the smaller moments in life and realize that it is these smaller moments that make life grand!

Love how you used a PL card on your layout Kelly! I have never done PL for fear of stressing out to much about it, but after seeing the amazing things done by the SC team and in the gallery I think I am ready to give it a try, hopefully I can get started in July(that's my goal). Thanks so much for the chance to win, this really would give my the jump start I need!

What I love about project life is that it's an easy, organized way to document all of the little everyday things that I know we'll love to look back on. Like your husband, I have very few photos and no written memory keeping from my childhood, and I often think how cool it would have been to have something like PL. Thanks for the chance to win and for all the PL & scrappy inspiration--love your style!

I love that Project Life is so flexible and an easy way to capture our everyday lives. This year, I opted to do monthly pages instead of weekly for our family album, and it totally works for us. It's a great way to preserve our memories and still get to play creatively with supplies. :)

I love that it helps me capture things I wouldn't normally scrapbook or even remember. Like silly anecdotes, things around my house, funny little pictures of my daughter.

Thanks for the chance to win! I love doing PL - I love documenting the everyday memories, and having a place to store all those little tidbits!
My husband has gotten quite good at saving stuff for my album. Less so with taking photos, but there's always hope, right? :)

I love the simplicity of Project life. I couldn't keep up with designing a 12x12 page for all the photos I take, but, with PL, I can take as much time or as little time as I need, and, it still looks awesome!
Thanks for the chance to win! LOVE this set!

THanks for this other chance to win the PL Add-on Kit. I haven't started any PL project so far, but will do very soon for my baby's birth which is supposed to happen in less than a couple month.I'd very much like to document his first year week by week. I wish my husband would take more pictures of me cause I end up being the one left out of the pictures all the time. Maybe with the baby it'll change. Fingers crossed. And for the give-away too! ;-)

My favorite thing is having other friends and family look back over our book to see what we've done over the past year. It's also fun to incorporate photos and stories of my nephew in IL. We may not have participated in what was going on, but he's still very much a part of our lives and I love looking back and seeing how much he's grown!

My favorite part about PL is when my boys are involved in creating with me. They love writing the journaling, drawing things on 3x4 cards, and looking through the album with me. :)

The tiny wooden hearts are really cute. I would like to be able to scatter them on cards and albums.

I love PL because of it's simplicity!! My daughter who is now 20, still looks through old scrapbooks and now PL albums. I am now excited to be able to add pictures of my grandbabies for them to look at.

With a recent death in our family, it really has brought home that I have captured memories of our everyday life so that if something was to happen (God Forbid!) my son will have a tool to help him remember us. He will know how very much he was loved.

There are many reasons why I love PL but most important is that it gives me an easy way to add stories to my daily photos.
Posted by: Kathy Smith | June 18, 2013 at 11:53 AM
I took a hiatus from scrapbooking for a few years because it was too overwhelming. I adore PL and that it makes memory keeping both manageable and stylish at the same time!
Posted by: Rachel | June 18, 2013 at 11:54 AM
Project Life has made me so much more aware of all the little everyday details that add up to be our life. I love capturing it all in my album and looking back on all the happy memories that would otherwise be forgotten.

The variety of products and techniques we get to utilize each and every week! Love it!
Posted by: Patti H | June 18, 2013 at 11:57 AM
Despite having done an album for each of my two year old twins since their birth, I love PL because it allows me to just slot in the everyday photos of them as they have changed day by day and go back and complete the memories ... all the moments that were missed on their "pretty" and decorated albums will be captured in their PL album. Thank goodness they are only nearly two, and not 10! :)

My favorite thing about Project Life is thinking that one day I will have kids and they'll be able to look at it and see who I was before I became their mom...

I love the community surrounding project life. So many creative people making beautiful things.. is there anything better? Well, actually, there is one thing. I love the concept of celebrating the every day. The normal stuff. The stuff that otherwise goes unnoticed. Thanks to project life, I see things differently. And it helped me to realize how truly happy I really am. That is absolutely priceless!

Such a neat layout! My favorite thing is documenting the little moments in my life. Often, the things I document in my PL album, are the things I forget about in the big picture. Love looking back on my year. Thank you SO much for the chance to win!
Posted by: Ashley M | June 18, 2013 at 12:43 PM
I love how easy it is to get caught up. I can do a few months at a time as long as I have the pictures and my calendar. And I love that it's a snapshot of real life. Not just the highlights, but the every day. Thanks for a chance to win!!

I love that it's gotten our whole family involved. I've scrapbooked a family album since my husband and I got married, but he was never really involved. With PL, he is involved in saving bits and pieces, taking photos and even journaling here and there.(same with our girls)To me, that is the best part!
Posted by: Kelli W | June 18, 2013 at 12:58 PM
The cute cards are my favorite thing about PL! Of course the daily documentation of the little bits of life is cool too :)

What I love about Project Life is how easy it is to document the everyday stuff of life. Even better is that if life does get in the way, it's easy to get caught up.

This my first year doing project life. My favorite part is the flexibility. Sometimes I do 2 pages for a week, sometimes more or less. Sometimes lots of embellishments, sometimes not. No rules.
