Home. It's the place we all long for when we're away and the place where the majority of the memories happen. For me, home isn't home without photos (surprise surprise! ;). I actually don't have near the photos up that I'd like to, but I cherish the ones I do have. It's taken us awhile to get this house decorated (we've been here 2 1/2 years!) and eventually I'd like to get some canvases of my favorite photos up on the walls, but decorating is definitely a process, right? ;P I do have these two framed photos of our family photo session last fall up on the shelves in our kitchen eat-in area...I love looking at them everyday.
SO, as most of you know, Studio Calico (only the BEST scrapbooking kit club ever!) has come out with their first paper release. It's called Home Front. I got my stash last week and put together this little card...I did a little distressing on the edges, which isn't usually my style, but this line totally calls for it and plus, I need a new trimmer blade. lol. ;)
Okay, so here's the fun part...Studio Calico is sharing part of their home with you by sponsoring a giveaway of their brand new line, Home Front. Imagine June Cleaver styled 1950s domestic bliss. Featuring optimistic colors and smooth vintage inspired patterns. You’ll find fresh stained wood grain, retro home décor, an exclusive SC cardstock alpha set, and much more. Home Front is versatile, colorful, and beautiful….I think you’ll love it. To win this collection, simply leave a comment on this post on what makes your home feel like home. To increase your chances, be sure to visit the rest of the design team below. Also, Home Front is already available at several online retailers...check it out here. Good luck to everyone! :)
to me home means my husband, especially in hard times. safe, solid and secure. thanks for the chance!

Little touches of colour and art make my home feel like home. I've got a long way to go with decorating our house, but pops of colour make me smile.

to me home is family. Doesn't matter where I'm at, as long as I'm with family I'm home.

to me home is my husband and my kids and the times we can share having "family time".

My family is what makes my house home.

What a cute card. I wish I had the talent to make cards but I don't. My family makes my house a home. In the 26 years my husband was in the Navy, we lived in some not so nice places but it was always home because we were together.

Having family around me is what makes home feel like home. It's a safe and comforting and fun place to be :)

Tough question..but I recognized lately that home is wherever I'm with my boyfriend actually...and may it be a camping tent *lol* It's like the quote says: Home is where your heart is :) (which makes me have a few homes: my Mum's, my Dad's and our own :) ) Love that *gg*

Apart from family, it's those little things, like the smell of something cooking in the oven, or those little hand-made decorations on the front door, or a lit fire, and the photos on the wall... I could go on....

Thank you so much to give us a chance to win...I discover your blog from the Céline's one and not sure that my english is clear...so sorry for this.
I like in my home the joyfull bazaar...Every one is messy (sometimes it's not cool) but it give us the sense of recklessness...

Aww, sweet little card! Home is where my husband is.. and my kids too! But, the atmosphere changes when my hubby gets home. It's so nice, we are all happier. He's a firefighter, so is gone sometimes for a while.

Dogs, snuggling on my lap - that feels like home. :)

Home ... it's where my family is ... it's where I feel safe ... it's where I can walk in the door, pick up 5 toys, 3 jackets, 6 pairs of shoes and 12 pencil crayons before hitting the hall closet!!! LOL!!
Love your pitures. I can relate to your 'decorating is a process' comment. I have a pile of framed (and unframed) pictures still waiting to be hung after 2 years in OUR "new house"!!

Well, besides my family making home feel like home, I'd have to say that my white candle barn co. vanilla and cinnamon candles make it smell like home to me. :)

I love all the personal touches, that's what makes a house a 'home'. Lots of photos of the family & things that we've collected along the way.

Hmmm....home is a combination of things. The effort you put into making/decorating it, the people you welcome into it and the history you create within it's walls. Wow....deep thoughts at 2 in the morning. Nice. :o)

to me, home is all about the little details. just like you mentioned, having photos is definitely a part of it. but there are other things too... less perfect things like the pile of shoes by the door, the mail station on the counter... things like that just let me know i'm home. :]

My home feels like home, because of the all the stuff we made ourself and collected ourself. Especially if me and my husband both love it. And of course because of my family who lives in it!

To me what makes a place feel most like home is the people (and animals) I love are with me. No matter how fancy a place is if they aren't with me it's never home to me.

This is a very cute mini!! My kids make my house a home. I don´t really care where I live and I am not anxious to have the most beautiful house but I need to have my children nearby.

Home is the place where we gather every day after being separate for work or school with DH and my 2 children. We try to make it cosy, full with "souvenirs" from places and country we were travelling or living years before and allway with fun projects for holidays to come ...

It's the place where me and my love can simply be ourselves and rejoice in that.
Seeing bits and pieces that we collected over the years- photoframes, the silly bowl he gave me for my birthday a few years back, his vintage model aeroplane -those little things make me smile.

Kelly - we have been living in our home for a little over seven years and I still haven't been able to decorate the way I want. I think that's one of the joys of moving into a fixer upper when you are pregnant with your first child! :0)
My family makes my home for me. But also I think when I am able to make those little finishing touches, I'll feel more settled!

Posted by: Luckie | November 16, 2009 at 04:48 AM
I know the easy thing to say is family.. but for someone that only recently moved into a place with our own furniture after living in a furnished apartment for the last 2 years, I would say our bed and the couch... maybe I should get out more....
Can not wait to get my hands on these lovelies..
