***my KP Sketchbook giveaway winner is Gracie!!! Congratulations, Gracie! You'll be hearing from KP soon :) **
It's time for another Studio Calico kit reveal! City of Lights was a great kit. I'll admit, it did intimidate me at first...it's definitely more on the girly side, BUT I always love what a stretch these types of kits are for me. I scrapped some things that have been on my list for awhile and I'm happy with the results. Here's what I came up with this month...
This one uses mostly Montmarte...again, that stamp from Montmarte was my FAVORITE!! I love that I've gotten this scrapped finally too. Brady says this a lot...multiple times a day and I always tell him "I love your more", so the stamp in Montmarte was SO perfect for finally getting this documented. I stamped directly onto my photo using staz-on ink to make it stand out. I used my silhouette to cut out the link of hearts across the top and then backed it with the yellow paper from Sorbonne.
I was just about to put my kit away when I found this photo on my desk. I knew this kit would be perfect for it! I snapped this photo of Jackson and his little friend, Emelina, a couple of weeks ago and knew right away it would be fun to scrap with this kit. The photo is very "dreamy" feeling, so I kept with that using the softer colors from the kit. Lots of mixing add-ons with the main kit here. The Dear Lizzy vellum from Versailles cut PERFECTLY the little clouds on my Silhouette!!
This was my MAIN KIT ONLY layout this month. And despite the crooked title, this is my favorite layout for this month ;) The main kit is just gorgeous all on it's own. I was inspired by all the triangles used in home decor/graphic design right now and went to town making my own triangle design along the bottom of the page. I used the JBS stencil guide and a JBS paint dauber (stick candy) to paint the title on. We're nearing the end of Brady's "little kid" stage and I'm having a hard time with it. In the fall, he'll be heading off to all day kindergarten, so I'm holding onto these days where we can still spend lots of time together.
I loved this background shape from the Silhouette Store and knew I wanted to use it as the basis for this layout. I used lots of papers from the Louvre add-on, plus the sequins from Sorbonne to add some detail.
Just a quick card because I couldn't stand to pack up the kit yet. :)I love the background stamp from the Sorbonne add-on, but I didn't get to use it on my layouts. So, I used it here on the MME wood veneer burst shape. The Prima chalk inks stamp SO beautifully and they worked fantastic on the wood veneer. Really I can't say enough about the chalk inks...I just ordered 9 more colors to add to my collection!!

these are all fabulous...some of my favorites for sure!! Thanks for the inspiration :)
