***GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED! THE WINNER OF AMY TAN'S STRETCH YOUR KIT CLASS IS ELLIE A.!! CONGRATS ELLIE...SENDING YOU AN EMAIL :)***
I went back and forth a million times about whether or not I wanted to tackle Project Life. I'm too busy, I told myself. But then I'd see spreads from Glue or Marcy and be totally convinced I needed to do it too. I finally bit the bullet and ordered the Cobalt kit on December 29th. ;) I'm SO happy I did. It's a big commitment and I already don't have much spare time, but I know it's going to be such an amazing thing to look back on and the boys are already loving it and I'm only one week in!
I'm taking a relatively simple approach and trying really hard not to be too "matchy", which I have a tendency to do. ;) But I'm going to take Glue's advice which was "it's going to be a long year if you don't give a little". She knows me too well. ;) Week #1 went well...I'm super happy with my spread and I know it will get easier each week once I get into a groove. If you're new to Project Life or just looking for more inspiration, make sure you check out Lisa's 2012: Captured class over at 2peas each month...she was so sweet to ask this newbie to play along for January.
So who else is doing Project Life? Anybody come across any great tips/ideas? I'm planning on sharing my PL spreads each week here on my blog and I'd love to see yours too, so leave a link in the comments if you're playing along too.
Sooooo, I also have a fun giveaway! If you didn't know already, Studio Calico is now offering classes! Nicole Samuels has an amazing photo-a-day class going on right now and the next up is Amy Tan's Stretch Your Kit class. It's sure to be inspiring and a lot of fun. Here's the class info:
Are you ready to jumpstart the way you look at supplies? Tired of letting your kits pile up month after month without touching them? Ready to pull out the tools you have on hand and put them to use? Amy Tan is here to help show you how to see the Studio Calico Main kits in new ways and get those supplies onto your pages. She’s ready to share tips and tricks on making your kit supplies stretch to create beautiful page after page.
Want to win a spot in Amy's class? Leave a comment here and I'll draw and post a winner on Thursday. Good luck!! :)

Love your PL pages! I'd love to win a spot in the class. :)

Hi Kelly,
I am seeing stuff in your PL pages that has been languishing in my stash - AKA smash pockets that i was struggling with for a LO and Sass monthly titles that i love but keep forgetting to use! Great inspiration, thank you.

Love your PL pages. I'm so tempted after seeing so many PLs being posted but at the rate I'm just stashing my SC kits, I shall not start into something else. Would definitely love to win a spot in the class. Thanks for the chance to win.

Love your first week! Thanks for sharing. This is my first couple weeks doing it with journaling and paper (though I did it straight photos last year) and it's taking me forever but I love it so much.
Amy's class looks great - love the giveaway!

Nice pages! This is my first year doing pl, I've always wanted to do one before, but have a commitment problem! :D But after seeing Ali's, Marcy's, Lisa's and countless others, I've been inspired and determined to keep up with it. Can't wait to see your weekly pages for inspiration and encouragement! And thanks for the chance to win a spot in Amy's class!

You pages are fantastic!! I love them!! I tried so hard to be all "matchy" for my first week, and I am seeing that I totally need to just throw that out the window!

I drank the Kool-Aid, too, this year. At least I'm taking notes and trying to remember to take photos. I told myself that I had to finish a couple of other things before sitting down in front of those large page protectors. (I'm a card maker, so 12x12 seems huge.)
Your first PL pages look fabulous. You and your family will be so grateful to have the albums to reminisce over. Thank you for sharing and all for the chance to win a spot in Amy's class.
