So, I mentioned a few months back that my Aunt has been battling lung and brain cancer. She's been doing okay, but you can definitely notice a gradual decline in her health. The boys and I have still been meeting she and my Mom for dinner every week, like we have since Jackson was just 6-months old. It scares me every week to think that it might be the last one. :( Anyway, my Aunt loves going to the Renaissance Festival when it comes to town, but this year wasn't really well enough to go. My Mom and another Aunt decided it would be fun to surprise her with her own Renaissance Festival. They had an artist create these flags...
and this decree that one of my Uncles read aloud with the whole Renaissance accent thing going on. heeeee!
And almost everyone dressed up in some sort of Renaissance attire...you can bet there were lots of jokes being made about the men wearing tights. lol.
Jackson and Brady were knights, but Brady wasn't really too fond of his attire (hence the photo above in his regular clothes :P Jackson is always such a good sport though and was totally into his knighthood :)
We played games and ate chicken legs and my Aunt's favorite treat from the Festival, scotch eggs! There were lots of laughs and my Aunt was truly touched. My family has been through so much over the past 10 years and lots has changed, but it was nice to see everyone doing something special for someone we love. That's the family I remember.
On a lighter note, I haven't been scrapping at all. ugh. I want to and all day long I think about what I might do when I get a free moment, but then I get sucked into the TV or internet and do a whole lot of nothing. lol. I'm hoping the inspiration strikes soon, because I tend to get cranky when I go too long without scrapping. :P
Jackson is on spring break this week and Tom is taking off tomorrow and Friday to do some fun stuff with us. Brady spiked a 103 degree fever and started a cough yesterday, but he seems much better already this afternoon. We're hoping he'll be fully recovered tomorrow, so he can join in the fun too. Also hoping he's better by the weekend since we have 2 Easter celebrations and his birthday!!! I cannot believe he's going to be 2!!!
Happy Wednesday! :)

What an awesome thing your family did for your Aunt-I'm sure it meant so much to her. And what wonderful memories for you all!
I do the same thing with my sewing as you do with scrapping! I think all day of what I'll do when I get time, and by the time it comes I end up online or watching TV until it's too late. It's a shame it's so hard to make time for the stuff we like!
I hope Brady feels better, Peyton also has a cough, runny nose and fever. Why does it seem like everyone is sick all the time this year?
Have a Happy Easter! :)

What a wonderful way to support her during her battle! I just love this idea so much. :)
And you can come scrap with me and then I could soak up your creativity right along with you. ;)
